Tom Brady doesn’t deserve the accolades
Tom Brady doesn’t deserve the accolades that come along with winning the AP NFL Most Valuable Player Award (Brady got 49 of 50 first place votes, so I’m glad someone saw past his nonsense!). Brady shattered all the records this season, including beating Peyton Manning’s season touchdown record by one in the final game of the regular season. Manning didn’t have to run up the score nor did he even play in his final regular season game. Brady was repeatedly passing on 4th and 1 in the 4th quarter when up by 21 points… As referenced by the Pat’s many blowouts. Even worse is that the Patriots had to cheat to even get that far. In the first game of the season versus the Jets, the Patriots, Brady, and head coach Bill Bellicheat.. sorry.. Bellidoanythingtowin… I can’t even get his last name right. Regardless, Brady and his bunch of Cheaters (Brady Bunch v2.0) got caught illegally taping games. What was their punishment? They lost their first round pick… which ironically will be the last in the first round. The best part of the punishment? The NFL allowed them to keep their top 10 pick from San Francisco. Some punishment, I guess. Maybe it’s just a huge conspiracy that the NFL wants the Patriots to go 16-0 (as they accomplished) and be dominant. News flash, it won’t happen.
I’ll tell you why the Indianapolis Colts AND the Jacksonville Jaguars are better and will be in a position to win their game versus the Patriots. The Pats will most likely play Jacksonville in the AFC Divisional Round, and the Colts in the AFC Championship. Jacksonville has a tough ground game and a gritty defense, necessary to win in January, especially in cold Foxboro. If snow starts falling, it will negate Tom Brady and David Gerrard (for you slow people out there, advantage: Jaguars), thus making it essentially Jaguars run game and defense versus Patriots run game and defense. Any day of the week, and twice on Sundays (how ironic!), I’ll take the Jaguars with those odds. If the Patriots even manage to get past that, they are going to have to go and face the Indianapolis Colts and their much improved, number 3 in the NFL defense. The Colts, regardless of however the MVP voting went, have the best QB in the NFL and possibly in the history of the league. They’ve got hard hitting safeties, and the eventual NFL Defensive Player of the Year in Bob Sanders. Similar to when Sanders came back just before the playoffs last year, Marvin Harrison will be coming back just in time for the AFC Divisional playoff game this year. Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez have become much more productive with Marvin out, and the added Reps with Manning have helped immensely. Dallas Clark is another potent option for Manning. Joe Addai out of the backfield is a top 5 running back. Bottom line is that the Pats won’t win the Super Bowl, book it.
