Let’s Actually Bring Change to Politics
Listening to Barack Obama today caused me to get up and shout at the television. I did not get upset because I hate democrats, or hate their views. I got upset because in the whole hour speech all he said of substance was I want change, we need change, I will bring change, and It is up to you to bring change. He went on and on stating what Americans need, what Americans deserve, and even stating what we do not deserve. The whole hour he did not state one thing he would do to bring this change. The whole hour he did not state one of his policies, not even one of his plans.
Barack Obama is selling change because he has no experience. I do not have a problem with this, if he stated what he would actually change. Obama has stated, just like Hillary Clinton, that it would take up to five years to not even fully withdraw from Iraq. How would this actually be change? He wants to fix healthcare, and says it needs change. Obama has not said what he would do to fix healthcare. Even if you do not agree with Hillary’s views on healthcare, which I do not, she at least states her views.
Barack Obama is not alone on this change platform. Listen to Mitt Romney for more than five minutes and he will utter the word at least three times. Watching the news last night, the political commentators did at least make fun of Mitt Romney for this change platform. When speaking, every politician sounds great, but is what they actually do great?
Look at Mike Huckabee, what a great and funny guy right? This man has had his shares in even more scandals than Rudy Giuliani, and maybe even Hillary Clinton. Mike Huckabee raises taxes like a liberal yet he is looked at as a conservative. We all know politicians say things that are not true and try to paint themselves as things they are not. We as a nation actually need to investigate on our own to seek the truth about these candidates.
The point of my article is not to spew hate. Just look at yourselves and ask am I being fooled by something glamorous? People need to stop being fooled by their hearts and use their heads sometimes. Conservatives consistently get elected because they state what they want to do, and generally people like low taxes.
The problem is people are painting themselves as conservatives, and they have ruined the name. People think that it would be better to bring change by electing Obama or Hillary, which I disagree. George W. Bush ruined the name of conservatives by saying he was one when he is not. Bill Clinton was more of an actual conservative than George W. Bush.
We do need change, thanks mostly to the Bush administration. This does not mean go vote for somebody on the other side thinking it would be change. Republicans just cannot vote for those who will continue Bush’s plans. Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and John McCain would not change anything. They all want to destroy our rights and to keep spending at all time highs. None of these men would actually stop the printing of “at will money which is destroying our economy.
The only actual man running for President that would actually bring change, in a good way, is Ron Paul. The media rights him off as an extremist and a nut. They state that he does not want to talk to the rest of the world. Ron Paul is closest to an actual founding father than any other current politician. Ron Paul is the kind of man that might actually go down in history as somebody who did not have any scandals and stood up for what he believed in. How many politicians could actually hope for that?
